It's true. Pretty Woman was a regressive social commentary that set feminism back fifty years. But boy was it entertaining. And who could forget that dress?

I loved it then and I love it now. I even loved Richard Gere - he was nowhere near as creepy as that time he played a dying Winona Ryder's old boyfriend in Autumn in New York*.

Sure, you can always go all classic and neutral and safe, but there's nothing quite like a great print. And Secret Squirrel do them so well. Gardenia inspired, this frock makes me want to take the day off and have some fun. Yippee.

Don't be afraid

I admit it. I am a little scared of the crop top. In general, such a garment makes me think of girls at Highpoint who want to look like Gwen Stefani, or that guy from Jersey Shore who is obsessed with his 6 pack.

But now I'm thinking, maybe I was wrong. Maybe a cropped blouse can be sweet and flattering and just the thing to wear with a high waist this Spring. I love this version by Strummer. It's so wearable and totally not teenager at a shopping mall.

Spring is in the air, which means the racing season is about to begin. We love this TL Wood frock. First of all, it has sleeves. And a lovely waist detail. And splashes of mustard on a divine floaty fabric that create splashes of colour without being OTT.
